Alison began her dance career at her mother's school in Lincoln… starting her professional performing career at the age of seven! She undertook her vocational training at Leeds Dance College, under the tutelage of Cynthia Carr and then danced and choreographed professionally for five years (particularly for E&B productions), alongside teaching work at schools and colleges in Lincoln, Yorkshire and the East Midlands. During this time she was also co-founder of the Theatre Royal Youth Theatre in Lincoln and assistant to the director for the Theatre Royal's centenary production of “The Sound of Music”.
Alison continued to rise through her professional qualifications and is now a Fellow and triple genre examiner for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, one of the leading UK and worldwide dance examination societies.
With twenty five years of professional experience, Alison is the successful choreographer of numerous “All England Dance” finals winning pieces and, having been invited to choreograph work for the syllabi of the vocational level examinations for the Classical Greek Dance faculty of the ISTD, she is in demand for choreography and lectures, including having twice been invited to deliver the “Gladys Thorpe Memorial Lecture” for the IDTA.
