Janet Ashton Babes 30th Anniversary
The ‘Janet Ashton Babes’ have been appearing in the pantomimes at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln for the past thirty six years. The school was first asked to provide children for the pantomime ‘Aladdin’ in the late 1970s, following the re-opening of the theatre, and is very proud to have supplied the ‘Babes’ ever since.
Miss Alison was one of the original ‘Babes’ at the tender age of 7! Having appeared as a ‘Babe’ in four pantomimes, she was offered the part of ‘Tommy The Cat’, in ‘Dick Whittington’, and the following year ‘Daddy Bear’ in ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ (a role which she went on to reprise several years later).
